Validator by Formalize

DORA Register of Information

Broader cross-table validation and new warning severity

Over the last quarter, we have expanded the validator with additional checks, new severity levels, and broader cross-table validation based on ESA feedback and our own production observations. These improvements aim to further align with supervisory expectations and reduce noise from low-impact findings.
The following enhancements have been introduced:
  • Ultimate parent undertaking verified (B_05.01): LEIs reported as the ultimate parent are now resolved and cross-checked against the reporting entity's ultimate parent.
  • Branch country consistency (B_01.03 ↔ B_01.02).
  • Business function references validated (B_02.02 ↔ B_06.01).
  • Rank-1 ICT service references validated (B_05.02 ↔ B_02.02).
  • Assessment of ICT service references validated (B_07.01 ↔ B_02.02).
  • Maximum length validation applied across columns in line with the DPM specification.
  • Whitespace in LEIs flagged: LEIs with leading or trailing whitespace are now surfaced as a warning, so stray spaces don't silently cause downstream cross-reference mismatches.
  • Warnings vs. errors: Checks can now be classified as warnings rather than errors, so likely-but-not-certain or low-materiality issues surface without blocking the submission.

More flexibility and faster updates across your data

Make changes to your data more easily as your needs evolve. You can now adjust certain field types without starting over and update multiple assets in one go, saving time and reducing manual work.
What’s new
:
→ Change field types without recreating them, supported for both entities and questionnaires:
Single select → Multi select
(not reversible),
Text → Large text
(not reversible)
→ Apply edits to multiple
Assets
at once, following the same bulk edit functionality available for
Suppliers
.

You can now add custom fields directly to evidence, giving you more flexibility to capture and structure the information that matters to your organization. This helps ensure your evidence is more complete, consistent, and tailored to your needs.
What’s new
:
→ Configure custom fields directly on evidence.
→ Capture and update responses for those fields.
More ways to use and expose these fields across the platform are planned and will be introduced in future updates.

Build cleaner and more efficient workflows by linking nodes instead of repeating the same steps across different branches. This helps you reduce duplication, simplify complex flows, and keep your workflows easier to maintain.
What's new
:
→ Create links from Action and Loop nodes, including within groups
→ Linking also supports deleting connections directly in the workflow editor

We’ve improved the Framework Settings page to make it easier to find and manage what you need. This brings better visibility and separation of concerns, so you can manage frameworks more efficiently.
What’s new
:
→ Two clear tabs for better organization:
General
for framework structure (reordering, creation, deletion, and managing controls) and
Controls
for control-specific settings, custom fields, connections and data retention.

You can now define custom formulas for risk scores, giving you more control over how probability and consequence combine. This ensures your risk assessments better reflect your organization’s methodology and provide more meaningful insights.
What’s new
:
→ Apply a custom calculation formula using probability and consequence.
→ Use standard functions like min, max, avg, and sum, along with normal math operations.
→ Custom formulas currently display only on the gauge.
Configure this directly in
Settings -> Risks
by selecting a
risk type
and enabling the custom formula under
Risk Score -> Calculation
.

deadlines - showcase v2
Managing regulatory and time-bound obligations requires clarity, structure, and accountability. To support this, we have introduced a new "
Set Deadline
" action giving you a more powerful and structured way to manage time-sensitive processes.
This update helps you enforce internal and external deadlines, track whether critical actions or NIS2 reporting tasks are completed on time, and maintain visibility across complex, compliance-driven workflows.
What's new:
New workflow action
: “
Set Deadline
”, decide which conditions must be met before time runs out
→ Deadline visibility on entities/resources, showing clear “
met
” or “
missed
” status
For more details on how to configure and use the
Set Deadline action
, check out our **Help Center article**.
