Broader cross-table validation and new warning severity
Over the last quarter, we have expanded the validator with additional checks, new severity levels, and broader cross-table validation based on ESA feedback and our own production observations. These improvements aim to further align with supervisory expectations and reduce noise from low-impact findings.
The following enhancements have been introduced:
- Ultimate parent undertaking verified (B_05.01): LEIs reported as the ultimate parent are now resolved and cross-checked against the reporting entity's ultimate parent.
- Branch country consistency (B_01.03 ↔ B_01.02).
- Business function references validated (B_02.02 ↔ B_06.01).
- Rank-1 ICT service references validated (B_05.02 ↔ B_02.02).
- Assessment of ICT service references validated (B_07.01 ↔ B_02.02).
- Maximum length validation applied across columns in line with the DPM specification.
- Whitespace in LEIs flagged: LEIs with leading or trailing whitespace are now surfaced as a warning, so stray spaces don't silently cause downstream cross-reference mismatches.
- Warnings vs. errors: Checks can now be classified as warnings rather than errors, so likely-but-not-certain or low-materiality issues surface without blocking the submission.
